Gerry Irvine has lived and worked in the remote Scottish Highlands for over 30 years. Her painting reflects a love of the landscape and dramatic weather which dominates life in this wild location. Water, wind, prehistoric hills, bare croft land, shore, islands and above all, ever changing light. Nature at its most raw.

Working from on site sketches and photographs in the studio, Gerry uses acrylic paint, inks and oil pastel to interpret the landscape subjectively . She explores ways to celebrate shape and form and to represent effects such as light, mood and temperature.
